Paralympic wheelchair basketball players Robyn Love from Ayr, Scotland and Laurie Williams from Manchester, England are an engaged couple with one daughter born in 2023 who travels to international competitions with them.
They both competed at the 2024 Paralympics in Paris. Laurie has now represented Great Britain at four Paralympic Games, whilst Robyn has now played in three. After meeting on the basketball court in 2015, they became a sporting power couple, as part of the team that took GB to a record finish of second in the world.
Both have grown up with physical disabilities; Robyn was born with arthrogryposis and Laurie contracted a viral infection at 18 months old which resulted in full-time wheelchair use.
Laurie and Robyn are advocates for both the LGBT+ and disability communities. They work with brands both individually and as a pair, using their unique experiences to deliver engaging talks promoting the importance of equality, resilience, and leadership.
Robyn is a keen and regular public speaker who spends her working hours off the court working on her wheelchair basketball and tennis commentary and punditry skills, as well as introducing TikTok to the reality of her life as a game-changing LGBT mum living with a disability!
Laurie actively campaigns for greater understanding of the needs and skills of full-time wheelchair users, from extreme sports to pregnancy and parenting. She is also a disability model and recognised as a regular from the CBBC show Desperados.
Brand work includes working with Waitrose, PWC, ASDA, Scottish Power, Vitality, John West and Adidas.
